Michael will be appearing with Green Alembic @ El Valenciano in the Mission Thursday 3.15.12 • 11pm 1153 Valencia St. (22nd) S.F and again as part of the SIMM Series on April 1st 7:30 PM at Music Union hall 116 9th St @ Mission San Francisco CA. In January 2011 as a member of the Bill Horvitz Expanded Band, Michael recorded a cd to be entitled "The Long Walk". Be on the look out for it later this year.

The multi-instrumentalist & improviser Michael Cooke is a composer of jazz and classical music. This two-time Emmy and Louis Armstrong Jazz Award winner plays a variety of instruments: you can hear him on soprano, alto, and tenor saxophones, flute, soprano and bass clarinets, bassoon and percussion. A cum laude graduate with a music degree from the University of North Texas, he had many different areas of study; jazz, ethnomusicology, music history, theory and of course composition.
